The Atlanta Preservation Center (APC) is continuing its Twilight Guided Walking Tours of four historic neighborhoods in October. The fall schedule for the Twilight Tours of the four historic neighborhoods is below. All tours begin at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 12: Druid Hills – Planned in 1893 by world-renowned designer Frederick Law Olmsted, Druid Hills is noted for its landscape and diverse architectural styles designed by Atlanta’s top architects. Meet at St. John’s Lutheran Church, corner of Ponce de Leon Avenue and Oakdale Road
Thursday, Oct. 11: Historic Midtown -- Starting at the Peters House, built by Edward C. Peters in 1883, the tour passes by other residences belonging to famous Atlantans such as Pulitzer Prize winner Ralph McGill, editor of The Atlanta Constitution, and well-known city historians, Wilbur Kurtz and Franklin Garrett. Meet in front of the Peters House on Piedmont Ave.
Thursday, Oct. 18: Inman Park – Dating from 1889, Inman Park is a show place of elegant Victorian homes, whose owners include Coca-Cola magnates Asa Candler and Ernest Woodruff. Meet at King-Keith Bed and Breakfast, 889 Edgewood Avenue
Saturday, Oct. 13: Margaret Mitchell’s Ansley Park -- Developed beginning in 1904, Ansley Park is Atlanta’s first driving suburb and home to Margaret Mitchell for most of her life. Meet on the steps of First Church of Christ Scientist at Peachtree and 15th street
