Sweet Auburn Heritage Festival: The event will be Oct. 3-5 on Auburn Avenue from 5-10 p.m. on Friday; noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday; and 2-8 p.m. on Sunday. There will be food, entertainment, arts and much more.
Breath of Life Gala: The Georgia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will host the annual gala to help raise $225,000 for research and awareness of cystic fibrosis. Dan Dupree, President and Chief Operating Officer of Cousin Properties and former CFF board member, will be this year’s honoree for his long-time support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The even is Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.The ball will include a patron reception to be held at 7:00 p.m. followed by dinner, dancing and an auction. www.cff.org.
Maxwell Memorial Golf Tournament: Heart of Hope Academy For Children With Special Needs will host the 5th Annual Benjamin P. Maxwell Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, Oct. 6, at the Capital City Club in Crabapple, Georgia. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Make Hope Happen Scholarship Partner Program. The course opens at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Shotgun Start at 12:30 p.m. Activities include Hole-in-one, a Putting Contest, Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive. The 22nd Annual Atlanta Dog Jog: The jog will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Piedmont Park. The event includes a 1 mile race beginning at 9 a.m. and 2 mile race beginning at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $21 in advance and $30 on the day of the race. The fee includes one short-sleeved t-shirt and a race bandana for your dog. The Greater Atlanta Veterinary Medical Society sponsors the event. The Second Annual Atlanta Airline Collectibles Show & Sale is being hosted by The Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors are invited to tour the museum, including an exhibit housed in The Spirit of Delta, a Boeing 767-200 paid for and presented to the airline by its employees in 1982. A variety of vendors will be selling aviation-related items ranging from airplane seats to aircraft models and playing cards. The Museum Store, located in a fuselage of the prototype L-1011, will be open as well.
