For 15 years, Atlanta INtown’s mission has been to publish hyperlocal news that helps foster a sense of community. Live, work and play – we cover everything that makes our city home. Our monthly newspaper is dedicated to publishing news and stories that helps foster a sense of community. Your support of our advertisers will sustain our efforts.

We hope that you will pass along this newspaper and its philosophy to people with whom you come into contact and that together we can build a better community. Atlanta INtown publishes more than 40,000 copies each month that are distributed to neighborhoods inside the Perimeter including Buckhead, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Midtown, Virginia Highland, Ansley Park,Druid Hills, Emory, Decatur, Grant Park and more.

Atlanta INtown mails over 20,000 papers to Atlanta’s most prestigious addresses through the U.S. Postal Service. The other 22,000 papers are distributed though restaurants, small businesses and arts venues in carefully selected locations inside Atlanta.

Ann BoutwellAnn Boutwell has been with INtown since its inception in 1994. Ann writes our monthly A Look Back column chronicling Atlanta’s past. Ann is also a guide at the Margaret Mitchell House and frequently gives tours of the city’s historic sites, like Oakland Cemetery. She’s our very own Atlanta historian!
Kathy VogeltanzKathy Vogeltanz is a freelance writer, photographer and editor. She has been freelancing for INtown for nearly seven years, ably capable of covering everything from entertainment to the real estate scene.
Martha BarksdaleMartha Barksdale has been a writer and editor for more years than she would care to disclose, primarily at community newspapers in the Atlanta area. In addition to writing and proofreading for Atlanta INtown, she works as a reporter at The Fayette County News and writes/copy edits for several Web sites. She is a graduate of Gordon Junior College and the University of Georgia and is currently working on a collection of short fiction..
Laura Turner SeydelLaura Turner Seydel writes INtown’s Green Insider column and is a nationally known champion for eco-friendly living. She co-founded the Upper Chattachoochee Riverkeeper , chairs the Captain Planet Foundation and co-founded Mothers & Others for Clean Air, among many other projects. Manning Harris Manning Harris is a former drama teacher and regularly reviews plays and musicals happening at Intown’s theaters. He also usually reports from Broadway on all the latest shows Atlantans might catch while visiting New York. Contact Manning at fmanningh@gmail.com.
Thom VolarathThom Volarath is an Atlanta art director and designer who loves to dine out. He travels all over Intown to try the latest restaurants for our What’s Good reviews exclusively online.
Karen Head Karen Head is a professor at Georgia Tech and an award-winning poet (check out latest collections, Sassing and My Paris Year). She’s an avowed foodie, wine lover and is always on the search for a good burger. Read her reviews in our What’s Good posts in the News You Can Eat section online.
Elijah AndrewsElijah Andrews is a student at Paideia School with a sophisticated palate who loves to find new dishes. He’s contributing to our What’s Good review every month online.
Lain ShakespeareLain Shakespeare is the executive director of The Wren’s Nest (the home of his great-great-great grandfather, the author Joel Chandler Harris) and loves to blog and discover new restaurants. He brings a sense of humor to his food writing for our What’s Good reviews each month.
Kate AtwoodKate Atwood writes our monthly Charity in the City column, focusing on how you can give back to the community. Kate is the founder of Kate’s Club, a nonprofit that empowers children and teens facing life after the death of a parent or sibling. Jenn BallentineJenn Ballentine is a freelance writer and consultant, specializing in environmental and health-related writing. She has been freelancing for INtown for nearly four years, covering primarily topics related to the green movement within local schools and local, community-based organizations. She owns her own consulting company, Highland Communications, which specializes in environmental and health communications as well as monitoring and evaluation.
