Submitted by collin on Friday, 1 June 2012No Comment

From Friday, June 1 through Sunday, June 12, Modern Atlanta (MA) presents the fifth annual Design is Human, a series of events celebrating international design excellence and creative culture.

MA12 features a citywide series of programs that highlights design excellence in many areas of life: architecture, interior design, visual arts and social responsibility.

The event kicks off with a tour of selected modern homes in Athens, then comes back to Atlanta for the Architect Studio Crawl on Friday evening, June 1. A series of designer showroom events will be held on June 5, 6, and 7 at Room & Board, FLOR, and Design Within Reach and Hansgrohe Aquademie.

The Auburn/Edgewood district will become a design destination with the “Bar Alto” by London-based firm DesignMarketo that features a design-meets-drink and Bread Workshop at Space2 from June 7-10.

MA12 culminates with the MA Design Exhibition and Home Tour Launch event on Friday, June 8 at Terminus 2 in Buckhead, and the Annual MA Home Tour on Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10.

Tickets for the MA Home Tour on June 9 and 10, a tour of selected contemporary Atlanta homes curated by the Atlanta AIA Chapter, may be ordered on-line at modern-atlanta-tickets.eventbrite.com and can be purchased in select locations.

In addition, there will be design talks at the High Museum, including a presentation by architect Marc Clemenceau Bailly and designer Sebastien Boissard, as well as film screenings on design, fashion and architecture.
