The diversity of Caribbean culture comes to life in a celebration of music for the 2012 Atlanta Caribbean Carnival on Saturday, May 26.

More than 20 masquerade bands, steel bands, marching bands, and other groups showcasing an elaborate array of costumes and musical revelry will step off at the Civic Center MARTA station on West Peachtree at noon and make its way down Peachtree Street to Auburn Avenue. Grand Marshals for this year are Honorary Consulate for Jamaica in Atlanta, Vin Martin, and Vaughn Walter, MBE Director of Culture for Antigua and Barbuda.

The parade ends at the Festival Village on Auburn Avenue where the celebration continues with a variety of authentic Caribbean food and arts vendors, and a stage show featuring some of the Caribbean’s hottest talent including Iwer George, Edwin Yearwood, Skinny Fabulous,  Tanto Metro & Devonte, Kerwin Dubois, Tallpree, Benjai, Burning Flames, Pumpa and more.

Details on all these events can be found on the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival website www.atlantacarnival.org.
