EAV Farmer's Market logoThe East Atlanta Village Farmers Market will open for the season at its new location at 561 Flat Shoals Ave. on Thursday, May 5. The Farmers Market is building a learning garden at the new location that will be home to free wellness classes including cooking, gardening, and yoga on a weekly basis.

A ribbon cutting will be held at 4 p.m. followed by a ceremonial planting. From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., there will be a Seed Bomb workshop by the APS Parents’ Farm to School Coalition. Chef Seth Freedman of Ruby Root Connections will give a cooking demo at 6 p.m. featuring veggie tacos, which will be followed by a yoga class in the Edible Learning Garden at 6:30 p.m. There will also be face painting, hula hooping, picnicking and local strawberry margarita drink specials at the Midway Pub across the street – all proceeds benefit the market!

You can expect to find berries, garlic scapes, heaploads of greens, spring peas, seasonal crepes, boiled peanuts, strawberry-lemon verbena galettes, artisan breads, hand-crafted cheese, popsicles and more.

The East Atlanta Village Farmers Market runs Thursdays from May to  Thanksgiving, 4 to 8 p.m.  For more, visit www.farmeav.com.
