The Savannah College of Art & Design’s Ivy Hall Writers Series continues with upcoming visits by three notable authors. Here’s the scoop:

Martha Grimes is the bestselling author of the Richard Jury mysteries that have captured readers for more than two decades. Her recent book, “The Black Cat,” is the 18th installment of the mystery series. Grimes is also the author of the acclaimed fictional novels “Foul Matter,” “Cold Flat Junction,” “Hotel Paradise,” “The End of the Pier” and “The Train Now Departing.” Her lecture is Thursday, Feb. 10, 6:30-8 p.m., at SCAD Atlanta, 1600 Peachtree St.

Sloane Crosley is the author of the New York Times bestseller “I Was Told There’d be Cake” and “How Did You Get This Number.” The New Yorker’s latest book of humorous personal essays has been compared to David Sedaris, but with a twist. The charming and witty author has earned widespread acclaim and award nominations for her work. She will speak Thursday, Feb. 17, 6:30-8 p.m., at SCAD Atlanta.

Chris Abani is the award-winning author of “GraceLand,” a tale of a Nigerian teen living in the ghetto and his journey to a better life. Imprisoned as a teenager by the Nigerian regime for his writing, Abani has transcended his adversity into creativity. The PEN Freedom-to-Write Award recipient has continued sharing his gift of storytelling with the world with “Becoming Abigail,” a New York Times Editors’ Choice for 2006 poetic novella, and his latest novel, “The Virgin of Flames.” Abani’s lecture is March 3, 6:30-8 p.m., at SCAD Atlanta.
