Atlanta Girls’ School presents an afternoon of concert and conversation with Emmy Award-winning composer, author, and philanthropist, Peter Buffett, at the Woodruff Arts Center, Symphony Hall, on Sunday, Jan. 30, at 3 p.m. Special guest hosts will be Hannah and Kevin Salwen, father/daughter authors of The Power of Half. Hannah was also one of Atlanta INtown’s 20 Under 20 honorees this year.

Life Is What You Make It: A Concert & Conversation with Peter Buffett is a 90-minute live performance featuring Buffett on piano, accompanied by cellist Michael Kott. Using his own life story and experiences as illustration, Buffett takes us on a musical conversational journey through his career and life.

Buffet’s message and devotion to philanthropy is very much in line with the evening’s hosts, Hanna and Kevin Salwen. Driving home one evening in Atlanta, Hannah turned to her father and asked him why a homeless man needed so much and the man in the car next to theirs – a fancy foreign model – had so much. With that question, Hannah launched her family on a journey of discovery and giving in which she insisted that they sell their home. They did sell it and bought one with half the money, taking the money left over to invest in a village in Ghana. Tickets are $15 for students and $35 Adults.
