Submitted by collin on Saturday, 8 January 2011No Comment

Project OvercoatThis winter, Kroger’s Atlanta Division will team up with the United Way, WAGA FOX 5, Kiss 104.1, FedEx and the Atlanta Mission for the 2011 Project Overcoat campaign. From Jan. 8 – 22, Kroger customers and associates are encouraged to bring new or gently used coats to any Kroger location throughout the metro Atlanta area.

“With our coldest months still ahead and unemployment rates at an all time high, more metro Atlanta residents will be in need of coats and blankets than ever before,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “This year, Kroger’s Atlanta Division has set out to collect 25,000 coats and blankets, and with the help of our customers and associates, we know we can help keep Atlanta warm.”

To participate in this year’s campaign, Kroger shoppers can place their donations in the Project Overcoat bins located at the front of each metro Atlanta Kroger store. All donations raised through the 2011 Project Overcoat campaign will be distributed to the United Way and Atlanta Mission, formally known as Atlanta Union Mission. To donate, please visit www.kroger.com to find your nearest Kroger store.
