Weekend High Five: Eat, Drink & Shop
1. Art in the park: The second annual Chastain Park Arts Festival will tempt holiday shoppers with more than 100 artists, food and more on Saturday, from 10 a.m. t 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
2. Bring out your dead! Head over to Atlantic Station for the Atlanta Day of the Dead Celebration on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. featuring continuous live performances by national and local artists, vendor booths offering free product samples, arts and crafts, and authentic Latino foods.
3. Romper stomper: The annual Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. featuring a Chili Cook-Off, 5K road race, live bluegrass music and more. A little indigestion won’t kill you.
4. Put your nose in a book: The Book Festival of the MJCCA opens Saturday and continues through Nov. 21 with more than 40 authors (including Pat Conroy, Gene Wilder, Neil Sedaka, Yan Martel and Sara Gruen), author meet-and-greets, book signings, panel discussions and more.
5. Wine time: Taste organic wines from around the globe, sample fare from Decatur’s restaurants and enjoy live music at the 2010 Decatur Wine Festival on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. on the Old Courthouse Square. Remember, this is wine – stay classy.
