Submitted by collin on Wednesday, 12 May 2010No Comment

bowling pinsTeams are forming now for the Big Bowl Part II, August 7, at Midtown Bowl. Part 1 was held earlier this month, and corporations, small businesses, and local community citizens came out in full force for Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser coordinated by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBS).

The tournaments are part of BBBS’s 50th Anniversary of serving the community. The May 1 event, which raised more than $150,000, included representatives from companies such as QuikTrip, UPS, Coca-Cola, BBDO, Leapley Construction, Georgia Commerce Bank, Paul Hastings and Delta Airlines to name a few. The companies formed teams of 4 to 6 members, fundraised online, and came out for two hours of bowling fun. The festivities included a live DJ, karaoke, Dancing Daisy the Clown, door prizes, Ovie Mughelli of the Atlanta Falcons, and Freddie Falcon, the mascot.

The monies raised go directly to match a child with a professionally supported and well-trained mentor. Information about forming a team and sponsorship for the August event can be found at www.bbbsatl.kintera.org/bfks.
