Bark for Art, May 15

Submitted by collin on Tuesday, 11 May 2010No Comment

labrador retrieverAtlanta Lab Rescue (ALR) invites all canine lovers to the 6th annual Bark for Art fundraiser on Saturday, May 15, 7 to 10 p.m. Enjoy an evening of refreshments and libations, a silent auction featuring pet-centric art, trips and other surprises and best of all, the satisfaction of contributing to a worthy cause.

The event will be held at Mason Murer Fine Art, 199 Armour Drive. Admission is $50 at the door or $45 in advance from www.barkforart.org.

This year’s event is crucial to the future of ALR. Economic conditions have rendered ALR with less financial resources despite the increased number of at-risk dogs. This fundraiser is an opportunity to bestow generosity, thus ensuring that ALR is able to continue its mission. One hundred percent of funds is used for the rescue and care of at-risk dogs. The average cost to rescue one dog was $590 in 2009.

ALR is an all volunteer, non-profit whose mission is to identify and rescue Labrador Retrievers and Lab Mixes and place them in secure, loving homes. Since 2007, the organization has successfully rescued more than 800 dogs and maintain an average of 40 dogs in the program at any given time. For more information, visit www.atlantalabrescue.com.
