Submitted by collin on Friday, 30 April 2010No Comment

Blue Heron Nature PreserveOn Saturday, May 1 from 1 to 5 p.m., the Blue Heron Nature Preserve  will host its 10th Birthday Celebration including the Eco-Fair Market Place. Activities will include tours of the preserve, a chance to purchase recycled art, listen to live music on the lake, see rescued wild animals brought by A.W.A.R.E., visit the Little DaVinci School and the community garden, and meet vendors to discuss home “Greenovations.”

“Everybody is invited to join neighbors from Chastain Park, Brookhaven and North Buckhead for an afternoon of fun and exploration at this magnificent nature preserve,” notes Nancy Jones of the Blue Heron Nature Preserve. “There will be opportunities to support local green businesses, hear local DJ Scott Glazer spin music – and as a special treat, the Atlanta Audubon Society will lead a special bird watching tour.”

A $5 per person donation to the Blue Heron Nature Preserve is encouraged, and if the weather does not cooperate, a rain date is set for May 8, also from 1 – 5 p.m. The preserve is located on Roswell Road at Lakemoore, across from Pike’s Nursery (enter from Rickenbacker).
