My name is Lola, and I am looking for a new home. A nice lady got me out of the traffic on a busy road, and then she tried to find my owners, but they never came looking for me. I am mostly Chihuahua, weigh about 12 pounds and am about one year old, according to the doctor that looked me over. I had a lot of fleas when the nice lady got me, but they’re all gone now. The Atlanta Humane Society’s Reindog Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. This is the only day of the year pets are allowed in the garden. There will be dog agility demonstrations, entertainment and a costume contest with celebrity judges and prizes. Categories include Best in Botanical, Best Owner/Dog Look-alikes, Best Puppy, Best Senior, Best in Holiday Finery. www.atlantahumane.org.

Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption raised nearly $1,000 during its Halloween event at East Andrews Bar & Café. More than 200 dogs – in costume – and one very brave cat attended the event.
