Kate Atwood’s new book released

Submitted by collin on Friday, 13 November 2009No Comment

Kate AtwoodAs a young woman, Kate Atwood experienced the trauma of losing her mother to breast cancer. Unlike most people who are faced with this type of loss, Atwood transformed her experience into something positive – something from which others in similar situations could benefit.

She founded Kate’s Club – a nationally acclaimed, Atlanta-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering children and teens facing life after the loss of a loved one, and providing them with the most important commodity of all – hope. In her first book, A Healing Place: Help Your Child Find Hope and Happiness After the Loss of a Loved One, Atwood offers a down-to-earth guide to caring for grieving children based on her own experiences working with grieving children though Kate’s Club.

Atwood, pictured,  signed copies of her book last night at Tanner Hill Gallery in the Westside Provision District. For more about Kate and to purchase a copy of the book, visit http://kateatwood.squarespace.com.
