auctionA Holiday Art Auction to benefit the Phoenix School will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Bass Lofts, 1080 Euclid Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 per person or $5 per person plus five non-perishable items, which will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

More than 30 Atlanta-area artists, including tattoo artists, graffiti artists, makeup artists, sculptors and painters, have committed to the inaugural Holiday Art Auction Extravaganza. This edgy event aims to raise scholarship funds for families in need at Phoenix School. Art fanatics and curious neighbors can expect one-of-a-kind art pieces, live music, bites from Tin Lizzy’s, desserts from Publix, libations from Sweetwater and more.

Other action and raffle items include two AirTran tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S., an Andy Warhol numbered print, yoga classes, Hawks tickets, vintage furniture, handmade baby blankets, a makeover for two and a big screen TV and Wii.

Charitable donations go directly to a scholarship fund at Phoenix School. Phoenix School is a unique, non-for-profit, parent-governed daycare located in Oakhurst. The school is committed to providing quality care to a diverse group of children and families and provides partial scholarships to a number of families in need each year. The school has an excellent reputation, adheres to the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs guidelines and was awarded “Center of Distinction” from Georgia’s Department of Early Care and Learning, Bright From the Start. The Center of Distinction Award is the highest state recognition for Early Childhood Education in Georgia.
