Park Renewal DayNeed some extra cash?  Or, want to earn money to donate to a local charity?  Either way, the 2nd Annual Park Renewal Competition is here to serve your needs.

The competiton will take place this November 7th.  The fruits of a joint effort of Renewal Design-Build, the DeKalb County Parks Department, and City of Decatur’s Active Living Division, the event allows volunteers compete against each other to root out invasive plants from an assigned plot of land in Decatur’s Dearborn Park.  This year, the prize money offered up to the top five groups is an overwhelming $1,000, $500, $300, $200 and $100, respectively.  The cleaned up plots will be judged by County Park experts and local celebrities like Decatur’s Mayor Bill Floyd.

Any group can participate, and groups have the option of competing to win money for a charitable cause of their choice as well.  Prizes will be awarded in a ceremony after the competition featuring food and entertainment.
