Six Flags Goes Green!

Submitted by collin on Saturday, 22 August 2009No Comment

6 flagsEver since Six Flags committed to going green earlier this year, the company has been brainstorming more new ways to conserve energy and lower it’s impact on the environment.

A major new initiative is the Six Flags Railroad, which has been converted to run on vegetable oil instead of diesel fuel.  After four days, the railroad was ready to tote around eager park-goers, stocked with 74 gallons of vegetable oil.

In addition to the conversion of the railroad, Six Flags, Inc. has also began installing LED lamps and lights and low-flow water fixtures throughout the park.  The company is also very proud of it’s recycling initiatives, which have led to a partnership with Coca Cola and more than 3,000 recycling bins placed around the park grounds. www.sixflags.com
