Picture 1The National Endowment for the Arts has distributed $19.8 million in one-time grants to state arts agencies and regional arts organizations to support the arts sector of the economy.  Fulton County Arts Council is one of the Georgia Arts Agencies that received the grant.

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Fulton County Arts Council will expedite distribution of $250,000 to Fulton County nonprofit arts organizations for salaries and contracted expenses to preserve jobs that are threatened by the economic downturn.

“We are excited at the opportunity to provide additional assistance to our contractors that have to make tough personnel decisions, sometimes resulting in job losses,  as a result of the nation’s economic climate,” said Veronica Njoku Director of the Fulton County Arts Council.

Applicants must be non-profit, 501 (c) (3) arts organizations in Fulton County who are current Fulton County Contracts For Services recipients for the 2009/2010 cycle. Eligible organizations can apply for $2,000 – $20,000 grants. Completed applications must be postmarked or delivered to the Fulton Arts Council by 4:30 p.m., August 14, 2009.
